Collection of new/old poems and songs--stay tuned = music pun...
I get lost in soundscapes. When I play my guitar, I listen to the harmonics ringing in the room and the instrument--noise can convey a feeling or emotion as well as words can.
'Crisscrossed' is based on an old poem I wrote years ago. This song is about fearing the loss of those closest to you, while at the same time,
wishing them well.
lyrics
Crisscross,
I'm at a loss,
For words,
These days,
I really feel it,
Today
Crisscross,
Applesauce,
And other shit,
Kids say,
I really hope,
You're okay
Would you please?
Let her sing for me,
Let her sing for you
Would you please?
Let her heartbeat,
Next to you
Would you please?
Play your song for me,
I'll play my song for you
And scratched knees,
On kids playing hopscotch,
Kids just like you...
Could you please?
Play your heart for me,
Play your heart for you
Could you please?
Let her heartbeat,
Beat right on through.
